Capture fps is how many frames the camera records each second. Timeline fps is how many play back each second. The ratio is the speed.
A teaching model. Speed = timeline fps ÷ capture fps. Shutter held at 180° = 1/(2 × capture fps); cameras show the nearest setting (1/50, 1/100, 1/250, 1/500). Light cost is relative to 24 fps at 180°. The splash is stylized to last exactly 1 real second, and the real-time panel is limited by your screen's refresh rate. Timelapse assumes a 180° equivalent (shutter = half the interval). Phones advertise modes like "4K 120fps", but many cameras drop resolution or crop the sensor at high frame rates: check your camera's specs.
